⚠ Atmospheric Events Advisory: UGM Meteorological Services Division

The UGM Meteorological Services Division wishes to inform residents that two isolated high-altitude incidents were recorded over the city on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings respectively. Witnesses described bright fragments descending at speed before impact with uninhabited areas of the southern district. One resident described the event as "like a comet, except there were several of them and they were glowing."

Authorities have classified both events as naturally occurring atmospheric phenomena consistent with seasonal particulate activity and confirmed that no further occurrences are anticipated at this time. The UGM Science Division has dispatched a recovery team to the southern district as a precautionary measure.

Residents are reminded that any materials recovered from ground level following a high-altitude incident should be handed immediately to the nearest UGM Assistance Point and must not be retained, traded, or examined. The UGM thanks residents for their cooperation.

This advisory was issued by the UGM MSD on Wednesday 3 July 2026 and remains active. It will be withdrawn once the Division is satisfied that conditions are stable. This advisory does not constitute an acknowledgement of any specific infrastructure concern.

UV Index

UV levels across all districts are currently Moderate (4). Standard precautions apply. Residents near the southern district boundary are advised to remain indoors between 13:00 and 15:00 until the recovery team has completed its work.

Air Quality

Air quality across most districts is rated Good. A localised reading of Moderate was recorded near Zone B-7 early this morning. The UGM Facilities Division attributes this to "scheduled ventilation work" and expects readings to return to baseline by this afternoon.
