1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using Solaris, including the Minecraft server network, this website and store, Astrofox Accounts as used with Solaris, and our Discord server (the "Services"). By using the Services, you ("player", "user", "you") agree to follow this AUP. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Breaking it may lead to the actions in section 6.

Legal Entity

Solaris is operated by Astrofox Studios Ltd (Company No. 16129887), registered at Suite Ra01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, England, E17 3NU.

2. Prohibited Activities

Illegal Use

You may not use the Services to engage in illegal activities, including but not limited to:

  • sharing, promoting or requesting child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or any sexual content involving minors;
  • grooming, or any attempt to sexualise or exploit other players;
  • fraud, including payment fraud, using stolen cards or accounts, or chargeback fraud;
  • illegal gambling;
  • any other breach of local, national or international law.

Cheating and Exploits

  • Using hacked clients, cheats or modifications that give an unfair advantage (for example kill aura, fly, x-ray, reach, auto-clickers or macros).
  • Using bots or automation to play, farm or chat.
  • Abusing bugs, glitches or exploits instead of reporting them to staff.
  • Boosting, win-trading, or teaming in modes where that is not allowed.

Harassment and Harm

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, or encouraging self-harm.
  • Hate speech or discrimination, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity and expression.
  • Sharing anyone's personal information without their permission (doxxing), or stalking players across platforms.
  • Impersonating staff, other players or Astrofox Studios.

Inappropriate Content

  • Offensive, sexual or hateful usernames, skins, builds, signs, housing, marketplace listings or chat.
  • Spam, flooding chat, or advertising other servers, services or websites.
  • Posting malware, phishing links, or scams.

Trading and Accounts

  • Selling, buying or trading Solaris accounts, Stars or in-game items for real money or anything else outside the official store.
  • Scamming other players in trades or on the marketplace.
  • Using alternate accounts to evade a ban or mute, or to gain an unfair advantage.
  • Abusing coupons, creator codes, promotions or the store checkout.

Network and Service Abuse

You may not use or target our network to:

  • launch or take part in Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks, or threaten to;
  • perform unauthorised port scanning, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing or attempts to access systems, accounts or data you are not allowed to access;
  • scrape the website or store at a rate that degrades it, or automate account creation or checkout;
  • deliberately crash, lag or overload a server (for example with lag machines or packet spam).

If you find a security issue, please report it privately to help@playsolaris.net instead of exploiting it.

3. Discord

Our Discord server follows this AUP as well as Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Staff may also post channel-specific rules.

4. Security Responsibilities

You are responsible for the security of your Astrofox Account and your Minecraft account, including:

  • using a strong, unique password and, where available, two-factor authentication;
  • not sharing your account or login details with anyone;
  • not downloading "free cosmetics" or "Stars generators", which are scams.

You are responsible for what happens on your account, including if you let someone else use it.

5. Moderation and Logs

To enforce this AUP, our systems and staff record chat, commands, logins and moderation actions, and may check whether a connection comes from a VPN or proxy. See our Privacy Policy for details. Staff decisions are made at our discretion based on the evidence available.

6. Enforcement

Depending on how serious the breach is, we may warn, mute, kick, temporarily ban or permanently ban a player, and may apply a ban to the Minecraft account, the Astrofox Account, linked accounts and connections from the same network. Serious violations may be reported to law enforcement or to the relevant platform (for example Discord or Microsoft). Suspension or termination for breaking this AUP does not entitle you to a refund, except where the law requires otherwise (see our Refund Policy).

If you think a punishment was a mistake, you can appeal by opening a ticket in our Discord server.

7. Changes to the AUP

We may update this AUP at any time. Updates will be posted on this page and the "last updated" date will change. Your continued use of the Services means you accept the updated policy.
