Competitive Play & Destiny Games

What is Competitive Solaris?

Solaris is designed around both casual and competitive play. While anyone can jump in, play games, earn cosmetics, level up their SolarPass, and participate in events, players who reach higher skill levels will also have the opportunity to enter Destiny Games.

Destiny is where Solaris becomes more than just a minigame server, it becomes an organised esports-style experience built around teams, strategy, seasonal competition, and large-scale live events.

Players who perform well in ranked play will eventually be able to apply for official competitive participation through Destiny Games.

What is Destiny Games?

Destiny Games is the sister server & competitive event of Solaris.

Originally created as a standalone Minecraft event project, Destiny Games has evolved into a long-term Minecraft esports tournament. It focuses on highly competitive team-based events, seasonal championships, live broadcasts, and large-scale community tournaments.

Unlike standard public matchmaking, Destiny Games is designed around:

  • Organised teams
  • Competitive strategy
  • Seasonal brackets
  • Broadcasted events
  • Large community spectacles
  • High-skill gameplay

Think of Solaris as the main game/platform, while Destiny Games acts as the top-level competitive environment built on top of it.

How Do Players Qualify?

While the exact requirements are still being finalized, players will generally need to:

  • Reach a high competitive rank in Solaris
  • Maintain good sportsmanship/community standing
  • Potentially apply with a pre-made team

Once eligible, players may be invited or allowed to apply for Destiny events and competitive seasons.

Not every player will want to participate competitively, and that’s completely fine. Solaris is still designed first and foremost to be fun casually. Competitive is simply an optional path for players who want something more serious.

Ranked Play

Solaris will feature a ranked progression system tied to core games.

This system is intended to:

  • Match players fairly
  • Reward improvement over time
  • Create long-term progression goals
  • Identify players eligible for competitive play

Higher ranks will likely unlock:

  • Exclusive cosmetics/rewards
  • Seasonal recognition
  • Leaderboards
  • Special events

Exact ranks, rewards, and requirements are still in development.

Seasonal Competition

Competitive Solaris will operate in seasons, similar to the main server.

Each season may include:

  • Ranked resets/adjustments
  • Competitive tournaments
  • Team qualification periods
  • Seasonal rewards
  • Limited cosmetics/titles
  • Live finals or showcase events

Destiny Games itself may also run separate event seasons alongside the main Solaris content cycle.

Current Status

Destiny Games and Solaris Competitive are currently in active development.

Systems, balancing, formats, and requirements are all subject to change as testing continues.

A dedicated Destiny Games website and additional documentation are also planned.

For now, the best way to stay updated is through the Solaris Discord community.

If you have questions regarding competitive play, applications, or future events, feel free to ask in the Discord server.
